Site Art Studio is a small, artist-run classroom located in Richmond, BC, offering focused instruction in painting, printmaking and related visual art practices. Led by artist Kai Liu, the studio provides an intimate learning environment where technical development, material exploration, and personal expression are equally valued.
With over twenty years of experience in drawing, painting, and printmaking, complemented by formal training in China, as well as at Langara College and Emily Carr University of Art + Design in Vancouver, BC, Kai brings a blend of academic knowledge and hands-on experience to teaching. Currently, the studio offers oil painting classes, with plans to introduce additional courses in drawing, printmaking, and mixed media over time. Each class balances structured learning with individual guidance, making it suitable for both beginners developing foundational skills and more experienced artists seeking to deepen their practice.
At Site Art Studio, class sizes are intentionally kept small to facilitate focused feedback, meaningful critiques, and a more reflective pace of learning.
